Micron goes green

As proud owners of a new solar panel system at our Head Office in Sherborne, Dorset, we can begin to generate our own electricity for the premise while cutting down the company’s carbon footprint – contributing to a greener, cleaner planet.

The solar panels – also known as photovoltaics (PV) – which are attached to the office roof, capture the sun’s energy using photovolvatic cells, with the ability to even generate electricity on a cloudy day.

As well as generating our own electricity which will be used for lighting and office equipment, when the sun shines we will also be feeding up to 11 kw per day back to the national grid.

Jake Scannell, Managing Director says: “I think it’s important that businesses are constantly looking for ways to run their operations in a more sustainable way, as we all have a duty to the world we live in. We’re always striving to find new ways to be leaner and greener.”
