The BoTree hotel in London’s vibrant Marylebone district is the flagship property in Shiva Hotels’ portfolio. The concept of ‘conscious luxury’ runs through every element of the hotel’s design, fusing sustainability with VIP hospitality.

The challenge

 

Launching a new flagship hotel

As a new-build project on a greenfield site this was a ground-up development, making it an exciting but complex opportunity.

The BoTree needed an advanced IT infrastructure that would deliver a 5-star experience across all guest touchpoints. From resilient Wi-Fi and in-room entertainment to door access and security, every operational element had to reflect the hotel’s commitment to excellence.

The technology also needed to support The BoTree’s personalised, informal check-in process, ensuring guests’ first moments in the hotel were seamless and welcoming. These devices were critical, creating the initial touchpoint that sets the tone for a guest’s entire stay.

Tight construction schedules, co-ordinating multiple vendors, and delivering a scalable, future-proof system demanded detailed planning and flawless execution. For Shiva Hotels, this wasn’t just another project, it was about creating an exceptional guest experience – and their ambitious vision was on the line.

A unified system created by experts

Building on our established partnership, we worked closely with Shiva Hotels, from consulting on the network design, operational systems, and guest-facing technology at the initial planning stage, to accommodating shifting construction schedules as the build progressed.

We designed, supplied, implemented, and tested a scalable hotel technology solution, ensuring every technical decision and detail aligned with The BoTree’s ethos. Our unified solution provides rock-solid infrastructure for their critical systems, including:

  • Fitting 403 Wi-Fi access points to ensure ultra-secure, reliable connectivity across the hotel 
  • Installing 194 switches and patching 3,979 cables  
  • Connecting 199 rooms for a smooth guest experience 
  • Integrating 30 mission-critical apps across 500+ devices so staff could easily manage operations on the ground

Our partnership delivered a world-class hotel technology infrastructure that supports The BoTree’s innovative no-reception model and integrates all operational systems. We ensured the focus on ‘conscious luxury’ was underpinned by ultra-reliable Wi-Fi and connectivity across guest rooms, social spaces, and food and beverage outlets.

And it’s not just guests who benefit. Staff can communicate in real-time, instantly informing maintenance teams of issues with rooms, monitoring fire alarm notifications, and making it easier to co-ordinate tasks.

By minimising on-site infrastructure and installing energy-efficient networking equipment, our streamlined, sustainable solution also helps reduce The BoTree’s carbon footprint and supports the hotel’s commitment to ‘conscious luxury’.

Our integrated hotel IT and telecoms setup was pivotal in making our client’s vision of premium amenities, fine dining, boutique social hubs, and exceptional service a reality.
